I saw this amateur documentary about why people in Jamaica bleach their skin. Some say to get girls, because a musician told them too, or because they want to give the aura of being rich. Please tell me it is a very small percentage of people in Jamaica that do this.

Those people are crazy to be putting all those chemicals on their skin just to get a bit lighter than they were before because they definitely don't look white at all.

It is funny that people in Jamaica want to be lighter, but Caucasians in America want to be darker and will submit themselves to spray tans (Also dangerous chemicals) and tanning beds (Dangerous radiation) to achieve it. However because tanning is so common, we think nothing of those people and condemn the Jamaicans. It is sad to me that people can't just be happy with the way they look. Everyone looks different and that is okay, there is no need to change your skin tone or hair color or eye color to get people to like you. I know others judge us by our physical qualities, but it is a sad state. We all need to just be more accepting and loving toward others no matter how different from us they may look.
