World’s smallest pacemaker revealed

A pacemaker the size of a nickel can now be implanted in patients, report experts. When a lower heart rate is present, the heart is unable to pump enough oxygen-rich blood to the body during normal activity or exercise. Pacemakers are the most common way to treat bradycardia to help restore the heart's normal rhythm and relieve symptoms by sending electrical impulses to the heart to increase the heart rate. Ref. As technology improves we will find more improvements such as this to make things smaller and more able to assist a person in keeping them alive. I think a smaller pacemaker is good for the patient as it will be less intrusive.
