As long as other countries maintain and even upgrade our nuclear arsenals we have to do the same. That said, wouldn't it be wonderful if we woke up one day and humans learned to live and work together. We'd be able to really get off this rock then and start colonizing other planets.

I find it fascinating how man kind is so destructive towards itself. I wonder if we ever will actually get off this rock before we blow ourselves off this planet? Yes it would be nice if we all could just get along and work on more peaceful things instead of military might.

Yeah, think of the progress we could make if necessity was for us getting off of the Earth rather than thinking it's trying to kill each other.
