Truly God If In Eternal Check? - Page 2
(laugh), I was on page 22 of the polygamy thread and had to take a break so I went looking for the Calling and election thread and found this gem. I was debating as to where I should make my comments on this subject as that could be made in the polygamy thread or the calling and election or the blind obedience thread. But this seems to be a good starting place. I will to this thread from those threads when I share my thoughts on this subject.
Here is my starting point:
QUOTE Luke 6:39- 40
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
This parable is simple, if the blind lead the blind they both are in trouble. So, the disciple or blind is not above or leading his master. BUT, when the blind disciple can see or becomes perfect, then he is on the same standing as the master in other words, he can see for himself and is no longer lead by the master. Thus as JB so aptly stated it, he is free to do as he pleases.
Having seen the results, they please to join the father in bringing to past the immortality and eternal life of there brothers and sisters. They finding joy want to raise others to equality also.
There is a pattern or path of progression here as follows:
- Ignorantly causing havoc and mayhem while taking the agency of others.
- Laws with associated punishments are given to prevent the ignorant from harming others, but allowing them to learn from their own experiences good from evil.
- The First Transition is Begun - Some event or pondering produces the conclusion that their is a great and powerful being that controls the circumstances of life.
- The First Transition is Achieved - Further pondering concludes in a realization that by obeying this great being we might obtain favor to the point of receiving the blessing we desire. The ignorant person becomes a "Servant" of this Powerful Being.
- The Ignorant have the view point that this being very powerful is a tyrant, cruel, and demanding. Requiring exact obedience and threatening terrible punishment if not obeyed, even to eternal punishment. The Servant obeys his Master like a coward asking no questions and expecting no responses. Obedience is the theme.
- The Second Transition is Begun - Some event or pondering causes the person to realize that all the rules and laws this God gives are meant for their benefit and blessing, not for God's. They realize that there is love in this all powerful being.
- This causes them to look for how the demands of God are caused by love, much like a parent gives rule to the children they love. They begin to see the wisdom of a loving parent as they teach wisdom and not random requirements.
- The Second Transition is Achieved - As they continue to look they eventually find that god is NOT a demanding tyrant that executes judgment, but that God is a loving parent that is trying to protect his children from the natural consequences of eternal/natural laws. They realize that God does not inflict the punishments and actually has no say over them and is simply warning of them. They become the Children of a loving Father/Mother/God.
- As children they understand they can learn by following and asking questions. As they do this they gain intelligence. (Blind obedience doesn't bring intelligence regardless of the common popular belief.)
- While obeying and still learning, the child (no longer servant) begins to see as the Father (No longer Master) sees. They begin to understand principles and are able to calculate the answers before the are given. They understand the "Why" that determines the "What". The Answers begin to come easily and quickly almost as fast as the questions.
- The beginning of the Third Initiation or Transition - Then a marvelous thing happens, They having learned to receive from the source directly, having built on the rock from which they CAN NOT fall, they qualify for eternal life. Their calling and election is reveal to them and they are promised eternal life with the only criteria being that they NOT go against their inner conviction. That inner conviction coming from the link to the source which is facilitated by the power of the holy Ghost, an extension of the light of Christ. (They can now commit any sin except Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost and they will still be exalted.)
- Feeling still very unworthy of such a blessing, and realizing they do not know everything still, they continue to learn and follow God the Father.
(The remaining may be difficult to consider for many and I am not actually sure how to cover it. I think I will jump straight to the point.)
- God seeing that they are ready to complete the third transition gives them a command that is against the knowledge they have gained so far. It contradicts all reason and is very painful. The purpose is to convince them to make the transition to becoming equal with God. Here they have spent all this time obeying and following. The only way to get them to make the transition to friend and equal is to convince them to follow their own insight and prove to the intelligences that they are willing to do what they know is right at all costs, even at risk to themselves or loosing what is most precious to themselves. This is the final test of Honor which convinces the intelligences that the man cannot be purchased or threatened in any way to do other than what they feel is right. It is how the intelligences know they can honor the man and he will follow his inner light against all odds.
- The test is given only after their calling and election is made sure because they cannot fail the test in a way that they loose their exaltation!
- The Third Transition is Achieved - If they do as God commanded, then they can't be denied exaltation because they were doing as God commanded, but they still must go through the test and continue going through tests until they pass as explained below. This can be a very difficult and painful time. We have record of various people going through this, Job being told to curse God and die while loosing all that he held dear, Abraham sacrificing Isaac, Moses when God destroyed the entire population of the children of Israel leaving him only to keep the covenant made to Abraham, and others... (I hope you caught that error.)
- If they refuse to obey God, and follow their inner guide, then they pass the test and thus accidentally declare two things:
1) They are willing to do what they feel is right no matter the cost, even to loosing eternal life.
2) They unknowingly declare that they recognize truth to the point that they themselves are equal to and would challenge God. They are no longer under God but equal to God.
- (This they can safely do because they were already guaranteed exaltation with the only criteria being that they go against their inner light. They will be exalted regardless of what they do against the new and everlasting covenant. D&C 132)
- After passing this Third Initiation or Transition they are known as the Friends of God. No longer under God like a servant or son, but equals with God as 2 friends are equal with each other.
Again, consider the scripture:
QUOTE Luke 6:39- 40
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
What may surprise some is that this can happen in this life and has. Job was perfect, Moses was (though not in current records that I know of), Seth was, and Noah was. (Search the scriptures for "Perfect job" or "Perfect Seth" or "Perfect Noah")
Beyond this, the relationship between God and God becomes very interesting. A society of equals progressing. Not that you cannot still learn from other Gods, but that the are all Gods and Equals, none being over the others, all governing themselves without interfering with the agency of other Gods.
I'm tired, and going to bed, that polygamy reading wiped me out to the point that this post is probably not expressed well. Barely made it through...
