Special Counsel Robert Mueller, in a separate filing, declined to request a specific term. Cohen, who has pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, tax invasion and lying to Congress, had asked to be spared prison. Ref. USAToday.
I'm so glad that he sin't going to be just left out of prison time because he admitted sticking his hand in the cookie jar. Then again Trump could lay a pardon on him and its all over.

Michael Cohen sentenced to three years in prison. President Donald Trump's former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison.
Cohen said he took "Full responsibility" for his actions while working for Trump. His sentence will be the longest thus far for anyone involved with the President or stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Cohen has been ordered to surrender on March 6. Ref. CNN.
So he gets to have Christmas with the family and doesn't have to surrender til March 6? Is that allowed to everyone else that's convicted? I guess it also gives time to Trump to pardon him also?
