I think he should be able to bring his dog to work occasionally once he's properly trained. It is only a puppy and he might have only been wanting to play. Who knows? Maybe the dog really did mean to hurt her because she was being to aggressive. Of course the dog should be trained by professionals to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Dog-friendly offices becoming more mainstream
A growing number of businesses are allowing employees to bring their dogs to the office. Companies say the furry companions, who must be licensed, well-behaved and follow company rules, foster creative, collaborative environments for their workers. Ref. Source 5q.
This is one of those things that you know someone will ruin it. If companies allowed this there would be that one person. They would either have a dog that bites or yaps all day or the person that is unable to function even with quiet dogs around. Too many things could go wrong with this and leave the company liable.
If some of the dogs are like their owners I know a few people at work that this would not be a good thing. I do however think if it is a well behaved dog it could be a good thing. I know far too many people who think their dog is the best when in fact they are not.
Kyrroeth,
I agree with you here. There are just too many things that could go wrong. And what about people with allergies? I love my dogs. I have two of them and they are nice as can be. But they are mine and there are people who don't like dogs, cats, or whatever and should have to put up with them in a work environment.
