Lia looks at her mother. " Naneth, I left to look for my son. It took me years and I just now found him. I didn't think I would be welcome here after running off to find him so I never returned before now. Father made it clear how he felt about my pregnancy and Fay. This is my Faevalor Beleg. He is your grandson. " Her eyes shine as she looks between the two. Lia's smile can't get any bigger.
Lorelei pauses, "Your… grandmother? You found him Iell? After all this time?" Gently releasing Lia, she approaches Fay, "Child, I cannot tell you how bitterly I have regretted what was done to you. I still weep to think of it."
Reaching out to cup his cheek, she smiles and continues, "Ah, but not all is lost, I can see the stars shining through your eyes. Faevalor, Faevalor, it is a good name."
All of a sudden, she seems to grow more despondent, "Lia, your father has not softened, I fear that he will not take this well. It… it may be best if you left before he returns."

Cale says to Cratol, "Its a quiet place, nestled high in the mountains, the air is crisp and pure, as is the spring water that fills our well. There are twin shrines carved into the red cliff that gives the town its name, images of Kelemvor and Lathander, a reminder of the cycle of life and our place in it."
"Our home is a keep on a high ridge between mountains. From its top one can see for miles to both east and west, and the sunrises are beyond compare."
"Oh, right, you probably meant the situation it is in. A fair sized band of orcs managed to strike at us in the night. Somehow they had climbed halfway up the rear wall before they were noticed. Our men were disjointed, confused. They needed a leader, but I was not capable, and those who were did not stand at the fore. Before long, it became obvious we would have to retreat."
"The Orcs are now squatting in our home, occasionally raiding others from there. They've proven only a minor threat, and Cormyr unfortunately has greater priorities. There aren't as many of them as there used to be. One of my elder grandchildren took it upon himself to poison several kegs of ale and mead before he left. It was not an honorable move, but I am forced to admit to its effectiveness. Most of them died before they figured it out, only perhaps two dozen remain."
"There are still fighters loyal to clan Stormcaller, if you call on them for this task, they will answer."
Lia can't be any happier as she sees how her mother reacts to Fay. A note of dismay runs through her as she thinks about her father though. " Naneth, he still hasn't changed after all this time? Maybe the sight of Fay and I might soften his hard heart. " She eyes her mother hopefully. " I hope he will realize how wrong he was. "
Lorelei says, "I fear he has grown more bitter since your departure. He blames the humans for having stolen you from your own kind. But I understand if you feel you must try."
She turns to Fay, "Child, I fear your first impression of your grandfather will be a poor one. Whatever happens, I want you to know that my husband is still a good man. The slow fall of the edhel torments us all, and he has been lost to that pain for too long."

Cratol:
"They have scattered, taking employment where they can, they have families to feed after all. Seek out my steward, he has a room at The Watchful Lynx. He will know how to gather them."
"Be careful boy. You are young, too young for this I fear. I would not send you to this task were there any other. I can merely hope that what you have already done is a hint of what you can do here."
Cratol smiles. "Our keep will be free of Orcs I promise you this Uncle. It will be free of Orcs before you pass on if all goes how I envision. I will go meet with your steward. I will have him advise you on our progress." Cratol will leave and head to the Watchful Lynx to meet with the steward. There he will show the steward his signet ring and tell him that he is Cratol Stormcaller and he will take his families keep back. He will ask the man to gather up those he can and tell them to prepare to kill some orcs. Cratol will ask that he meet him on the road about a hour from the keep in three days time. Cratol will use the time to go and scout out the keep to see how to approach and retake it and see if he can get a count of the number of Orcs in the keep and area.
Velon responds to Lia. "Ha, yes I suppose it is true, but you and I didn't find our faith the way most do, did we? You stole the robes to set you on this path, and I, well, my story is also unique."
"I look forward to your message Lia. We'll all be happy to know you are ok. Remember you have more than one family. Good luck." He gives her another sincere smile. "Actually, here, give this to Fay." He hands over his newly purchased ring. "I cannot use it without you, and you two may run into trouble. He's more than welcome to return it, of course. I still look forward to working with you in battle!" He winks.

Velon is confident he and Poljen can handle just about anything, but he hesitates at the sight of the rats. "Ugh, I wish I had practiced channeling my energies into spells for this type of thing. If they swarm us, it could make it hard to fight. It would take all day to kill them one by one. What do you think, Poljen?"
Out of character: Worried about swarming effects as I just turned in Burning Hands for C.Orb. I doubt our little trio has any AoE. We'll probably still be ok, perhaps? I could check the first level Pally list, wait a day, and switch spells if there's anything good.
