Having Another Race Over For Dinner?
Have you ever had someone that is not of your Family's race over for dinner? Why or why not? Is it something you will attempt to try?
Many, many times. I "Grew up" in the Army. By that I mean from a young adult to a more… uhm, seasoned adult. I have shared my table with every race, creed, color, or religion. Add to that my father grew up in Newark NJ, which was thoroughly integrated in his day, and always taught me to judge someone by their actions not their appearance. Two of his four best friends were black and they were over many times when I was young. So, that is how I live my life and it is what I teach my kids.
And on a less serious note, when one doesn't do this one loses out on the diversity of life. I have had some wonderful food that I otherwise never would have had if not for having different races and ethnicities over for dinner and going to houses in return. My life is better for it.
