Crane Flies

County: Ubiquitous bugs are not giant mosquitoes

They may look like giant insect predators but the big bugs that have been turning up all over San Diego won't bite. They are called crane flies and they are harmless, say San Diego County officials. The bugs are proliferating after the rainiest winter in years. Ref. Source 8f
