Despite being in love with a Ukrainian boy from the same village, Polish girl named Zosia is forced into marrying a wealthy widower. Soon World War II begins and ethnic tensions arise. Amidst the war chaos Zosia tries to survive.
Hatred Sports & Fashion Music Movies
This is no typical world war two movie - its brutal. It covers just before the invasion of Poland by the Nazis to when the Germans started to lose against the Russians. Nothing is spared, you get war in its raw state and the sadness that happens when people start to love death. Ethnic cleansing is a big problem in those Baltic states and it was no different between Poland and the Ukraine back then. Some say this film is reigniting the hatred between the two countries.
