What is threshold for lips perceived as artificial, unnatural-appearing?
Recognizing the perceptual threshold for when lips appear unnatural is important to avoid an undesirable outcome in lip augmentation. A new study attempts to provide data on balanced augmentation. The study used incrementally digitally altered photographs of a female model's lips and included 98 usable responses to an internet-based survey. Ref. Source 9k.
There are a lot of doctors out there offering augmentation surgeries, and some of them claim to be better for you because they use fats extracted from places on your body. The problem about it is that your body will overcompensate for the fat removed by replacing it, and not always in the same spot it was taken from.
Then there are the reports of shady doctors who have injected people with cement and other weird substances. I keep up with the cosmetic industry the best I can and it seems women (And men) are either willing to do whatever they can to change how they look, or are simply uneducated on the real dangers of it.
