I'm not sure it's the picture someone else would pick though.

As far as having someone else pick your profile picture, I think that's a pretty good idea. We look at ourselves through rose colored glasses. Others look at us objectively and would probably pick out a better picture.

I think its mixing things. A profile picture is a picture of the real you and an avatar is a picture that is not you but represents you. I never use my real photo online so no worries there.

Rather off topic, but...
You are correct and I was definitely joking with my statement about that being a picture outside the walls of Troy in a past life. After all, when I was outside the walls of Troy in that past life we didn't have cameras! They etched my profile on a stone tablet *wink*

Back to the topic, I agree that we often get these things confused and we need to watch ourselves.
