3.5 D&D You As Character Role-Playing Game
Jason rushes to the door with his crossbow ready. HE sees a goblin dragging one of the children away down the hallway. He fires his crossbow but it just misses the goblin and soon it and the screaming child are out of sight. You can hear the child screaming as she is dragged away farther and farther.

Yes a 15 would have hit their AC is 14. And you are correct the 6 did not kill this one like it would have killed some of the others. The action of it are still the same. Otherwise you see the bolt hit it in the shoulder as it drags the screaming girl away.
