"That is definitely one way of fixing the problem," I say, both amused and impressed. Continuing I will offer this, "We will definitely need to be careful though, especially until we figure out what actually created those tunnels. It could be a purple worm or some other creature similar to such."
When the others arrive to let me know of this afternoon's occurrences, I set my work aside to address the problem.
"So much for the hope of getting this phase of things done before our next little interruption. Doesn't sound like a purple worm at least, their tunnels are described as perfectly round, and often collapse behind them unless made in stone. Could be Formorians, basically an antlike humanoid race, they often have little above ground presence. If so, things could get complicated fast. Negotiation could be possible, but they're territorial, and difficult foes."
"There are a couple of other possibilities, but I think our first priority should be to find out if those tunnels are artificial or formed by erosion. That would narrow things down a bit. A local who is well versed in the work of underground civilizations would be good to take with us, at least for that first inspection."
Turning to the young woman beside me, I give Thalica a brief summary of the situation in elvish.
Thalica nods and looks excited. She looks at you and speaks, "I will go gather the other older ones to assist us in this new adventure. I will be right back." Thomas was able to understand her too. She smiles again leans in and kisses Jason on the cheek and then is gone.
I look at Jason and smile, "Well, you could find a jeweler and commission an engagement ring." I chuckle just a bit. "Other than that, at her equivalent age in humans I don't know a way to let her off easy." I turn to Rachel, "You would be the best one to give advice here Rachel."
I look from the Jason, to Rachel, and then the others, before offering a smile, "I could try talking to her, in part because I do speak elvish though also because I have seen situations like this before. Of course, have Rachel to help in planning it out is fine as well." I may not always have the best of confidence, yet I have a bit of experience in someone growing too attached to another.

I grin as I see her kiss him on the cheek." Jason has been busy while we were gone." I laugh softly. When Den suggests that I advise him on the best way out of this situation I think for a moment. Hearing Thomas speak up wanting to handle it I grin." Okay, Thomas. May the force be with you and Jason." I look to Den and wink.
