I grin at Jason." How were we to know? This isn't our world." I nod towards the newly arrived refreshments." We can have a few drinks and a snack then go investigate. It will be more fun that way." I laugh and begin walking towards the supplies.

I am surprised and left curious on what Lywenta, and I ask, "Water is resistant to magic? That is interesting. Does this mean there are no spells that allow you to directly control and manipulate water? What of magic that controls other elements such as fire, earth, wind, and weather?" Admittedly, when it came to magic, learning how it worked was always a fascination for me.

"We can certainly poke around the northeastern tunnel first."
"In the event it requires more than a few days to explore their full extent, I recall there being spells to shape and create walls of stone and other solid materials. If such are available, we could create a tall dam, letting us ignore the water for a longer period of time. Would that be possible?"
"Placing a wall of stone or other solid material in a water bed is an idea but not a permanate solution as the bed is soft and the wall will be weak and prone to collapse into the hole" Looking to Thomas, "Yes all the elements are resistant to magic. You can control them for a short time but with the earth, air, fire and water be ever changing it is hard to control for a long period of time due to the extreme toll it will take on your magical ability. One learns quickly that elemental control is temporary at best."
I open my mouth, about to describe how a wall can be structured to be largely self supportive and distribute stress enough to increase its effective strength considerably. But then I think better of it, if it comes up, I can worry about it then.
Instead I say, "It seems our little structure won't be as necessary as we thought, but while we're here, I figured we could take a look around at the entries, glean what we can from the same. Have the men down there found anything so far?"
Lwenthiala states "From all reports it seems the base of this cave in is stable and can be walked upon. IF there was anything underneath when the collapse occurred we have not seen and likely dead. We will remain vigilant yet just in case and those tunnels do worry me they looked worked so they were purposely made."
As I heft my first beer and raise my cup in toast to Rachel I say, "Yes, let's look at that tunnel first and then we can explore the others. For all we know they may actually connect somewhere." I pour three more cups and offer the beer to my friends. Then I look at Lywenta and ask, "Would you like some? I didn't think to offer since I assume you are on duty and in my culture when you are on duty drinking of alcohol is forbidden. But I have much to learn of the culture here."
