I look to my companions, "I think we need to head back out and report this before proceeding."
"George, are you certain you do not wish to come? I can assure you there will not be fire this time, and we could use your perspective."
"You should also be aware of something else. A stream has been diverted into the collapse. From the looks of things, this place will be filled with water in a few weeks. I imagine that is less of a problem for you than it would be for us, but you still deserve advance warning I feel."
