I'll suggest that we proceed back towards where we encountered the hobgoblins, with those at the fore ready to duck back when they're spotted.

Out of Character: If those at the front keep a readied action to move back into cover upon seeing a direct threat, they should be able to avoid harm.

Out of character: heading back to the intersection with everyone else, ready to charge ahead at the door not obfuscated by the smoke wall bomb. Until then I will stay in the corridor, shield ready to block arrows.
