The next morning, I will search around to prepare a few things if they are available - some lavender, some candles, a metal bowl or cup, some cinnamon sticks, a small bottle of good wine and fresh, clean water in a skin. I'll invite anyone who wants to come with me, telling them that I intend to try and talk to the spirit in the kitchen, sort of a poor man's seance. "It may work, it may not, but I'd like to know what he or she knows about these time distortions. Curiosity and all that." If no one wants to come with me, I'll ask for a a guard and go that way. I'll head down and greet Lywenta and anyone else who is there, telling them of my plans. Then I'll go to the kitchen and try to make contact.
In my attempts, I'll have a single candle to heat the water in the bowl, using the lavender then cinnamon to give off their scents into the room. I'll pour two cups of wine, one for me and one across the table but not drink it unless I see the level in the other cup go down. As I'm doing so, I'll quietly ask the keeper of the kitchen to come and chat with me, telling out loud how I seek knowledge and wisdom from it and thanking it for the aid it has provided to our clearing out the tunnels. I'll spend a good couple of hours, if needed.
I'm practicing combat maneuvers, riding and checking in on the humans we brought back. I'll work on my carved pieces during my downtime and talk to anyone who talks with me. I'm generally friendly towards the staff and thank them for things they do for me.
Grant heads down in to the tunnels again after wading through water that is now about 42 inches deep. The only dry Tunnel is the NW tunnel as water is flowing freely into the N and NE tunnels. Walking through the tunnels he finds the room where the feast was at but nothing is there and the kitchen area is cold. The room with the desk is like wise empty. As he walks around looking for and asking for a spirit he hears no reply. Even when he tries to summon the spirit if does not respond.
During the day (Next day you are back) Qwantithalica will approach Jason. "My love since we are done with the hobgoblins did you still wish to see my home, my place of birth? We can plan a trip to that place."
I return to the castle, disappointed at my failure to communicate with the spirit. After cleaning up and such, I'll head back into the library, researching temporal spells and effects, as well as the creation of magic items. Upon the opportunity presenting itself, I will try to get into some language training with the mages, seeking to gain mastery over Goblin and others that are available.
I'm noticeably absent the next day, having bundled off with the young lady I'd been forced to neglect a little of late. We grabbed simple foodstuffs on our way out for a day spent in private in some of the safer regions around the stronghold.
When she asks about seeing her home, I'll nod. "Yes, and I do apologize for the delay, those tunnels took longer than I anticipated to deal with. We can see about preparing for that tomorrow. I believe many of the others will be willing to lend a hand there. For now though, this day is for us." I smile at her, "If you have any doubts about the way I feel about you, I intend to put them to rest."
Travis spends some time in the library, trying to identify the plants that he found, in books.
Studying, and searching through the books, trying to Decipher anything within, the tomes, pertaining to apothecary.
