I smile at the sign of rain." This rain will be nice...." I glance over at Ghost." Oh no .. You know how wet dog smells. This will be much worse for me." I wrinkle my nose and laugh it off.
Looking through my packs, I will make sure they are ready for rain." I wish I had some good rain gear from home."
I scratch my chin thoughtfully. "You know, I seem to recall wet dog smell being a matter of bacterial colonies in the fur, and not ones involved in the dog's well being either. If you clean one well enough, there's no wet dog smell for several days until the bacteria replenish themselves. That's tough to do with soap, but prestidigitation is very thorough. Think he would sit still for that?"
I nod at Jon's words, "Yeah, there are a lot of things I miss. A lot of things I would have brought if I knew I'd be coming here. A couple thousand pages of blueprints for a start."
After ensuring that my supplies and gear are well shielded against possible weather, I address the group "There's a lot of things that would've been nice to bring along, if we had been expecting this trip. But I have a feeling that whatever force is responsible for our cross universe jaunt would have probably edited out anything too disruptive. You also might've noticed that we haven't had a lot of free time to develop technologies here. A fully functional large scale forge and industrial scale assembly line would cause a lot of social issues I'm sure. "

Travis, after getting up having breakfast, prepares to leave. First by checking all his supplies are all sealed, closed from the rain. Especially the grain, and rations. Then heads off on his horse with the others.
I place my finger to my lip as I listen to Jason." Hmm… you know a lot more about this than I do Jason. If you are willing to try it then I'm sure he will be most cooperative." I look over at Ghost who would look uncertain if a dire wolf could look uncertain.
I grin, "Its probably best if I save my infusions in case something comes up during the day. If not, I can try it out when we make camp this evening, see if it helps when we stop moving and the air ceases taking his scent away."
"Oh, by the by, Jonathan, I think you ought to carry this." I hand over the Talisman of the Disc I had finished the night before. "It summons a translucent platform that will ride alongside you. A bit like a motorbike's sidecar. The nice bit is, that strength belt you have increases the amount of weight it can hold. It will carry three hundred pounds by default, and more than twice that with the boost from your belt."
We'll keep moving, continuing to arc back and forth as we cover ground further and further away from the stronghold grounds.
If nothing happens during the day save for a bit of rain, I'll prep a prestidigitation spell in the evening and slowly use it to clean out Ghost's fur. Since the spell lasts for a while, I'll go ahead and use it to clean off the group's gear while I'm at it.
Out of Character: I'm thinking a half hour travel gap in between arcs, what about you guys?
Talisman of the disc has unlimited uses, and lasts for three hours between activations. It creates a 3' diameter disk that hovers along behind the user. With the strength belt in play, its load limit is 700 pounds
I'll start making another Anklet of Translocation next, it'll take three days while on the road, DC 24 for the checks.
