Ghost is the one to spot them and alert Raachel to them. There is a small flock of them as they come down and attack. Rachel can alert (Wake up others) before they attack. I will need touch AC from everyone as you roll initiative and attack/Damage rolls. These are small flying creatures.
Out of Character: Touch AC is 10 + dexterity.
Awakening to Rachel's call, I roll out of the bedroll, grab my sword, and prepare to strike or cast, as needed. Out of Character: - Because I wear light armour, I sleep in it (No fatigue). My touch AC is 12 otherwise. Primary action will be identify the threat and then cast sleep on the swarm as they attack.
Seeing Ghost alert and Rachel's call, I look to see what it is attacking us. Upon instinct, I cast a ray at them taking out as many as I can.
Out of Character: my Touch AC is12. Doing energy(Fire) ray at swarm. Doing Attack and Damage rolls ahead of time.
I scramble for my crossbow and start firing at whatever targets present themselves. I try to get a sense of what the heck is attacking us.
Out of Character: Touch AC is 12, though like Grant I'm in light armor so sleeping in its an option. (Ring of deflection adds to touch AC)
Rolling a Knature. Its untrained, but I might get lucky, same for most of the other critter relevant K checks. If its Karcana instead, add+7 to the roll.
Travis, suddenly sees bird-like creatures descending ongiĆ and the Party.
He gets out his crossbow and starts firing at them.
Touch AC 22.

Awakened by Rachel's alert, as the flying creatures come near to the party, as I try to get up and prepare with my question drawn though also strum on my lyre to begin a bardic performance with Badge of Valor in sight.
Specific Action: Begin a round of Bardic Performance, and if the flying creatures from near attack with my rapier the round after.
Out of Character: Since I have no Dexterity or Dodge bonus to note, I believe that would actually make my Touch AC 10.
