Explorer. says...

Travis, is frustrated with his first attempt with trying to distill the properties of a plant product.
He discards, the green sludge with the rubbish.

Will, try again for a second attempt, at distilling the active properties, from the dream berries.

Out of Character: I noticed that I forgot to include the modifier, before, with the roll. But would have been 18 anyhow, for 1st attempt.

Travis Results:
  • Apothecary on D20 (+10): 25 (1 roll)

The next morning, two elves approach the group. One is familiar, the other much less so. The man next to Thalica is tall and broad of shoulders for an elf, standing a little under six feet in height with dark grey skin and light blonde hair.

I grin as I approach the table, "What's wrong, it's Jason, don't you recognize me? Seriously, I get rid of the beard and nobody can tell who I am anymore."

I sit down and explain, "I finally worked up the nerve to try one of those transformative potions we found a while back. It seems to have made me into a bit of a mutt. There is still a little bit of human in here, but also wood elf and drow. I can't claim to be entirely comfortable with the last bit."

"All told, I am happy with the changes. Some things are just going to take a little getting used to."

Looking closely at the transformation, I grin, thinking about the root causes for Jason's choice. "I guess this probably solves your need for darkvision potions, too. Does the drow part give you light sensitivity, as well? Must make for interesting biological changes, too. Taste, smell, sight - all the senses are probably strikingly different, eh? Well, have fun in your new body - I'm quite happy with my de-aged one."

"So, yea, tell us what it's like to be a mutt, I myself was always proud of my mutt heritage. Could always claim a nationality on Cinco de Mayo or St Patty's day." I say as I wink, "Do drow have holidays?" I joke.

"Considering who they worship, I expect their holidays would be like 'Ripping the Heart out Day' or 'Flense your Enemy Day'. I don't think our being human mutts is the same as being racial hybrids, though." I say with a wider grin.

The Learner says...

Waking up refreshed for the first time in days, I lay in bed for a time then get up, do my meditation and get dressed in my lilac dress and go up to the stronghold for breakfast after letting one of the servants know that is where I am going.
Upon seeing Q with another elf and hearing him say it's Jason; I put my hand over my mouth to cover the fact that my jaw dropped in surprise and happiness. I say to them both in Elven once he has finished speaking and I have myself together.
"I am so happy for you both, may you see many many years of bliss. A toast to the happy couple!"
I will then raise my cup and say
"To the happy couple" in common. Afterwards offer each a hug in friendship and happiness.

I nod, "Yes, I went for a run last night, it was wonderful. I've always had pretty good night vision, but now I can see even better than the time I tried on a milspec NVG."

"But then I caught a glimpse of the sun through a window this morning. It stung quite a bit. I'm going to need to make a serious pair of sunglasses. Oh, right, Sundark Goggles. They're cheap and easy."

"But you're right, everything is at least a little different. It all seems new, I feel a bit like a child again."

I laugh at Jonathan's comment, "You know, I bet if any part of my human Heritage remains, it would be the Irish blood. That's just too stubborn to go away"

"As to Drow holidays, somehow I don't think I want to attend any. Especially since I am a male."

When Susan offers her congratulations, I returned the hug graciously. I am glad people seem to be supportive of this change. I had feared that some would not understand.

Out of Character: whatever criteria KN used to select the specifics for this settled on an odd combination. It's pretty potent overall. 90' Dv, two out of the three drow SLAs, and some other goodies. I took a hit to strength and constitution, but I'm not surprised by that.

I look at the strange elf curiously. He does seem familiar. When I hear Jason's voice I laugh joyously. "I'm so happy for you Jason. You found your soul mate on another world entirely. Now you can have hundreds of years together. This is so romantic. The elven looks suits you Jason."

I stop speaking as I think on something. "I guess you have commited to staying here now. You can't go back to our world looking like that. Of course you would be the absolute best at LARP." I giggle at this. "I haven't committed to staying here yet but I certainly understand why you have." I grin at them and hug Jason and Be both tightly.
