I respond to Den. " I totally understand where you are coming from Den. It's getting harder and harder to sleep here. I'm going to start sleeping in my home. I need to spend more time getting attuned to nature. While everyone gets ready for our next adventure I will do likewise. I'm heading out to my home now. I will meet everyone back here tomorrow at the gate. My room is now available. Now you and Den don't have to share a room, Jason. Have fun all. Good shooting Den. "
I wave to the others. Walking up to the fortress I gather my belongings and take them to the stable. Putting everything in my saddlebags after saddling my horse, I set out. With Ghost at my side I make my way towards my home.
Out of Character: : Rachel has ride as a class skill and has a few ranks in it.

*Before I head for the Training Area. I say to Jason,* "I have some personal experience with riding but it was the walking kind and well, I was an elementary schooler at the time. I was at a summer camp for the YMCA. I was told the horse didn't like anyone usually but it seemed he liked me. He never once tried to knock me off."
*when the others go their way I make sure at least a few of them know where I will be and then head for the Training area to practice. Hopefully they have a staff there. Beyond my martial skills themselves, I really need to tone my staff fighting skills.* 'I guess any weapon is better than no weapon when needed. Hopefully I can also hone my ranged skills. I never was good at getting a dead on bulls-eye. Tonight, if we are still in town, I will ask Lord Douglas' wife about magic. From what I did figure out, dragons seem to still have a strong connection to sorcery.'
Looking after Rachel and Dennis as they leave, I confide in the two newcomers. "Sometimes those two worry me, their whole outlook seems to be changing, and I don't know how aware they are that their minds are being messed with. It seems a relatively benign change, but still. I especially don't like the idea the same is happening to me, and I just can't tell the difference."
"In any case, I've got some trading to do in town so we can get the two of you outfitted for some time in the wilds. I'll need you to be there for the latter part of it, especially for the apparel. Getting the fit right for something one will fight in is critical, and I've found the same can be said for both tools and weapons. And it would not be amiss to make sure the horses we get like you well enough ahead of time. Can you guys meet me in the market square in a few hours?"
I will head to the local kitchens and offer to trade our sack of fresh sixleggeddeerthing meat in for preserved trail rations. Then head out into the settlement to start hawking the stuff we looted.
Out of Character: We never got an official inventory from the second group of goblins we fought, but if they were outfitted the same as the others, that leaves us with a pile of 16 goblin sized studded leather outfits, 16 bucklers, and 48 javelins. Market Value 688, or 275.2 when selling at 40%.
Also still haven't figured out how much gold we had left after our last shopping spree. Anyone have a ballpark?
What I'm going to call the basic starter kit: light horse, saddle, tack, saddlebags, backpack, bedroll, Flint and Steel, dagger, 50' hemp rope, waterskin, (Total, 93.1 gp)
Rapier and Studded Leather for Thomas, 45 gp
Quarterstaff, Monk's outfit, and light crossbow for Allen, 40 gp
All told, we'll be spending 271.2 gp on stuffs for the new guys. Not much left over from the loot proceeds, but that's fine, more will come. If the cooks don't go for the barter mentioned above, we have enough wiggle room to just purchase rations.
You guys should know we've both in and out of character basically decided to share all party funds. So if we have the room for it, and there's something reasonable you want to add to your inventory, go for it.

"Very nice," I say, a smile growing on my face as I learn Handy Hoversacks are 3.5 though reasonably I know it unlikely for me to get one now as I said, "Yah, more likely then not that isn't feasible at this time but once I can it is wonderful for organization."
"Well whenever you plan on heading out," I offer, before also admitting as my fingers are tempted towards some of the bites, "Though if it isn't too much trouble I'd like to take that bath, especially for my ankle, and get some rest as well." I offer a smile, my eyes already growing a bit heavy and even feel a yawn trying to escape as he considers what was said.
"It may be a bit scary, how it seems we might change, but I feel such is so as to allow us to better adapt for this world," I offer, hoping it may be helpful before also adding this thought, "More likely then not, when we manage to get home, most such changes will likely be undone." Something, I kept to my innermost thoughts, which may be a reason not to go home mattering how far we all go.
Out of Character: I'll consider looking through equipment, but apart from what I already said, perhaps see if I can get that rapier masterworked. I am heading in for RL, very tired.

The stronghold kitchen staff will trade the meat for trail type rations. You will be able to get enough rations for all five of you for six days.
There is no master worked rapiers at this time but if you wish to order one he can make one but it will be a month.
I will express that will be fine, as I would be okay with waiting a month for such a weapon as it will become my primary as soon as it is finished. It is my weapon of choice, all things considered.

"Oh certainly, you'll have time to clean up, maybe even take a nap before we meet up again. And then once we're done with equipment, the day is yours, we won't be leaving until tomorrow anyways. Fair enough?"
Out of Character: it should be noted that a masterwork rapier costs 320 gp, which we cannot pay for at present. I could make one for 160 gp, but that will take even longer than ordering it from the smith will, as the list of things I need to find time to craft keeps growing.
