Oh, telling the truth once telling something was inevitable was less of a social call, and more a judgement of the particular individual you were speaking to. She is perhaps the single most likely individual in the stronghold to convince Lord Douglas of your innocence if this becomes a "He said she said" matter, but that can only happen if she in turn is convinced that you were straight with her from the start.
P.S. I think Kn is waiting on someone to post about leaving the office, towards me presumably.

Yah, I apologize for blurting such out yet in thinking on how I would react that was the first thing which came to mind when the Dungeon Master had the guard captain appear.
I have made social mistakes like that before, inappropriately blurting out more sensitive matters with the wish to be open and honest. Yes, even in situations where it wasn't my place to say anything and I get in trouble for such or not realizing the implications/inappropriatness of what I say.
That, more so then others, knowing the right thing to say and when it say it has never been as clear for me as it is with most. One of the most frustrating aspects of my Aspergers. Also, in being generally a poor liar and also having a preference for honesty.
Again, I fully expect a grilling from Rachel for this. Though now I am curious, both in and out of character, whether or not what was said about her and Dennis being in a relationship is true. That is, within the roleplay.
Again, I'm sorry. Yet what you all just read, I have sadly found myself in such a situation. Doesn't help I had a strong suspicion that the guard captain had heard enough to get us in trouble anyway if she wanted to and thought being honest with her might lead to her not drawing the wrong conclusions. That she would be helpful towards us if we are open and honest.
Admittedly, this could very well be my naivety in such a thought.

Eagle's Splendor is not much, but it might help, best I can do for you guys I think, short of attacking the guards here and hoping we can all fight our way out together. Had we a few days advance warning, some convoluted exit plan might have been possible, but as is….

Well, this is the last way I would want to deal with this situation. Hopefully the group isn't down two characters after this.
We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. Whether we just come out and tell the truth or try to fabricate something it very well might not end well. Just the fact that we were summoned like this in such a formal way doesn't bode well for us.
