I could always run with if..then statements. I get to choose to add the INT bonus before any roll, but I'm inclined to only add it on hits, to boost damage rolls. And, because it's per encounter, it refreshes between plot events, so it's handy.
Query concerning summoning spells with ethical considerations. Some fluff interprets the creatures brought in as not really here, the shadow of an ideal, others that the creature is actually pulled here from another plane.
I ask because I'm considering a sacrificial disarm here, but I'd never do it if it meant deliberately causing a real animal that kind of trauma, even if it is only temporary.
Any summoned creature is actually there. Sending them through a place where you know there is a trap is two fold.
1. You will be willing sending a creature into a know trap for your own personal gain.
2. You are aware a trap is there and that it could potentially harm or kill a live animal.
Plus you will be doing in front of Druid who may not appreciate such a thing.

Hence why I'd never do it if the creature was actually present to experience the consequences of the trap. Wouldn't need Rachel's disapproval to feel guilty about that. Oh well, we'll find something else.
Did I pick up anything with the new search?
