Reports: Obama to nominate Ashton Carter as Defense secretary
The Associated Press and CNN report that President Obama will nominate former Pentagon official Ashton Carter to replace Chuck Hagel as Defense secretary. Carter previously served as deputy secretary of Defense and as undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics in the Obama administration. Ref. USAToday
