Russia plotted to overthrow Montenegro's government by assassinating Prime Minister :
An election day coup plot to attack Montenegro's parliament and kill the pro-Western leader was directed by Russian intelligence officers with the support and blessing of Moscow, to sabotage the country's plan to join Nato. Ref. Source 2p.

This may very well be true but I feel that NATO has outlived its purpose as one Russian stated. It was designed to protect Europe versus communist expansion by the USSR. That is broken up and long gone. Russia isn't the Soviet Union even many pretend that they are. I guess we need a bogeyman to keep the money pouring into military contracts.
