He's correct about all of it, but the issue is allowing this (Possibly) crazy man to have nukes that can reach the US so he can blackmail us and/or our allies is unacceptable. So, we have a bit of a Gordian Knot here.

HE has nukes now and nothing ay one says or does is going to change that now. Russia and China both have been part of this and I doubt that Russia will do anything now to stop them from launching a nuclear weapon at anyone.

No one can stop a nut from doing something nutty, it's in their nature, unless you stop them by ending their ability to do something nutty. We have the ability to shoot these down, we need to deploy that ability to start with. That should be our first move. From there, we start weighing options and the cost behind each of those options.

Of course they want a seat at the table. That provides them with some degree of influence and Putin is trying desperately to make Russia a super power again. To be a super power a country requires influence in every region.
