Antibiotics & Constipation
I don't suffer with constipation, I use to have trouble as a child but not as an adult because of my high fiber diet as a vegetarian. Of recent, I found I was unable to go off during my usual times. This can cause headaches, cold sweats and general discomfort. I did some research and found out it could be related to the antibiotics I am on - they kill the good bacteria that aide in 'moving things along'. I also live in a high charged stress environment but it is nothing recent hence I tried some searches for the cause. If you are on antibiotics for any reason (in my case it was a recent root canal) then it is best to take it easy and not add to it by eating constipating foods.
Antibiotics counteract the beneficial effect of whole grain
Antibiotics may impede the health properties of whole grain, especially for women, recent study demonstrates. The results emphasize the importance of maintaining a restrictive use of antibiotics. Ref. Source 8w.
