Greece Noise Pollution
Is there a major problem with Noise Pollution in Greece? Does it happen only in isolated areas or are the people of Greece generally noisy?
If you called the police about a neighbor that is unreasonably making lots of noise how likely will they respond to it?
We have a family friend that lives in Greece. He actually lives outside of Athens and he tells us that the noise pollution in the city itself is terrible. He says it's the same way in Thessaloniki. According to him, the only thing worse than the noise pollution is the air pollution, which on same days is dangerous. My guess is that these large urban areas, built literally thousands of years ago and expanded slowly over the millennia with little thought to planning, and even had there been how could someone 2400 years ago know to plan for millions of cars, buses, and motorcycles, encourage rather than discourage noise and air pollution.
