They lock you down so your CCs are dead, your ID is compromised or you just can't use your computer if you don't pay their fee. What I will like to know about this kind of insurance is how do you prove the liability?
The Army actually pays for some insurance for me because of some recent compromises and breaches where foreign Governments were actually looking for people with my background. They didn't get a lot but they got enough to make my life dangerous. Of course, this new virus out that locks your stuff up tighter than a drum is bad too. I don't need insurance, I need a way to get back into my files. Heck, even if you pay they may not send the key to unlock. Even better, give me a set of orders, a choice of sniper rifles, and an 10 digit grid and I'll take care of this problem.
KN,
These people are insidious. They weasel themselves into your past and then start to steal bits and pieces of it. It's a scary thing and it feels like you've been assaulted when it's over. They can steal everything. I know you are being facetious when it comes to saying you are a nobody but these people don't care who you are or what you have done, they will steal your life out from under you.
Maybe a little facetious but seriously I do not think they will bother with me as most of my computer stuff is playing games. I can do that off line as well as online so no big loss and I have recovery disks so I can wipe and start over with a lot of my stuff. The important stuff is already saved to a computer that is not hooked to the internet at all.
