President Trump to interview John Pistole for FBI director job. President Trump is expected to interview John Pistole, former No. 2 at the FBI and previous head of the Transportation Security Administration, to take over as FBI director, USA TODAY has learned. Pistole is meeting with Trump on Tuesday afternoon at the White House, according to a former longtime Washington colleague of Pistole's, who has spoken to him recently but wasn't authorized to speak on the record. Ref. USAToday.
First, if this guy they interviewed wasn't authorized to speak on the record… that means he wasn't authorized to speak. Period. So, we have a free press, I got that. But, in my opinion, this means they are harboring criminals who are leaking information. That has nothing to do with a free press. So, the press should be compelled by the court to provide their sources when these sources break the law with their leaks, or face both financial punishment and possibly jail time, depending on how sever the leak.
Second, the fact President Trump is interviewing someone like Pistole bodes well for the FBI. From what I've heard and read, this person is a class act.
