The fact Russia is this advanced in hypersonic technology is unsettling. This has always been our bailiwick. This is truly not something to shrug off. I'm guessing there are a lot of generals and admirals worrying about this. This makes our aircraft carriers vulnerable. This makes our airbases vulnerable. And that makes our forward deployed troops vulnerable.

Oh I'm not saying we shouldn't take this seriously but it has been going on for decades now. They invent something and we invent something to counter it and vice versa. It really doesn't matter what anyone invents if hundreds of missiles are launched at the same time from around the world someone is going to be hit and if its nuclear we won't be around to care.

There you are absolutely correct. And if it's nuclear it probably won't be hundreds, it'll be thousands. We'll kill each other off and Mother Nature can start over again in about a thousand years or so.
