Dana Seetahal
What are your thoughts about the murder of former Independent Senator and Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal?
At about 12:05 a.m. Senior counsel Dana Seetahal was in her Volkswagen SUV proceeding north along Hamilton-Holder street, Woodbrook when upon reaching the vicinity of the Woodbrook Youth Facility two vehicles pulled alongside her causing her to come to a stop.
One of the vehicles, a Nissan Wingroad, then drove ahead a short distance and pulled across the road, blocking it. The other vehicle which was described as a panel van pulled alongside and the occupants of that vehicle pulled out their firearms and opened fire on the SUV. Source 4

Dana Seetahal Murder Case (Hover)
This murder case will cause an uproar in Trinidad & Tobago being the way Ms. Seetahal was killed. Any hopes of keeping the crime situation under wraps is now fruitless in the eyes in the public. We seem to be heading down the road of Colombia where the criminal element can hit prominent citizens and 'get away with it'. I have the feeling that the police will be working on this quickly and that the government may make a state of emergency for certain areas. Whatever will happen in the next few days will be done with fervor given it is an election year and this does not look good for the government.
I was shocked, frightened and in disbelief when I read the breaking news on TTcrime.com. At first I thought it was a mistake but when I read the report I just couldn't believe it. This is clearly a "hit" And I'm quite sure it has to do with the involvement of the Coolman case since she was one of the attorneys. My God, if someone like her can be killed in such a brutal manner and let me tell you nobody commits such a crime without knowing they will get away with it, what about the rest of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago!
First of all I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Seetahal's family at this very difficult time.
I agree with the above posters about this case being an assassination. I understand the shock of most people due to the fact that Mrs. Seetahal's was a public figure but how many average citizens who have been involved as witnesses in crime trials have been murdered? Too many to count.
Criminals believe they can walk around our streets and murder someone whether is day or night and they KNOW they will not be caught. The murder of Mrs. Seetahal is a clear example of what is happening in our country: Impunity.

Comments: Robbery? But like this government think we're all a bunch of dotish people who don't know any better? It's a hit! This woman's body still warm and they're already trying to disrespect it by spinning the whole murder as a robbery? NO! Dana's SUV was shot twelve (12) TIMES! Robbery? My foot!
Lord have mercy just saw the news. I am speechless I don't know what to say other than we reached. My condolences to the family and hoping that the police can solve this murder. Trinidad is the new Colombia let's see how many dotish people come now and tell me the crime isn't a serious issue. Steups.
