Well if this new carrier group can do the same thing as a battleship group I think the USS Ford will be a great fleet. I guess we will not know for sure until we see it in action.

This group can do so much more than a BB group and we have seen it in action… or at least we've seen its sister ships in action. The planes it has, around 100 at combat load, can deliver more firepower in one airstrike than all of the USS NJ's, she was the only BB active during Desert Storm, guns can in a day. A few of her older sisters were actually active during Desert Storm. They did quite a good job delivering ordnance and they are better at it now.

Well I have not been in a area to really see them in action. I remember Desert storm as part of that is seared into my memory. I will have to take your word for this ship and what it is capable of.

Yeah, when we called for fire support the planes off of these ships really laid into the enemy. It was a sight to behold. It was awe inspiring in a I'm glad I'm not on the receiving end of this sort of way. The only planes we liked better than air support off of a carrier was when the A-10s showed up. They were truly impressive with what they could dish out.
