BOSTON - Comedian Richard Pryor and former "Friends" star Matthew Perry are adding to the reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who drowned a golden retriever in the surf on the Massachusetts coast. The dog, which police said had been tied up, muzzled and stuffed inside a burlap bag, was found on Sept. 21 by a person walking on the beach in Nahant, Mass.

As an owner of a golden retriever, this news story was very disturbing. I could not imagine anyone wanting to do such a thing. If they didnt want the dog, I am sure they could have found someone who would have been more than happy to take him/her of their hands. There is no excuse for what was done. I hope the responsible person is found and held accountable for this very cruel act.
This is indeed heinous. The sad fact is that unless there was an eye witness, or the poor dog was microchipped, the monster responsible for this unspeakable act will not likely be found. It totally astounds me the levels of cruelty that are inflicted upon those in the care of others, whether these wards be animal or human. My spiritual path doesn't acknowlege a place like "Hell," but even that would be too good for these types of perpetrators.
I cannot understand those people who are cruel to animals. They must have so much hate inside and it is an early sign of what these people are capable of. All the serial killers and creepy stories you read, all of them started by being cruel towards animals first.
Gosh... that is just... aweful. I agree, whomever would do such a thing to animals should go to hell. Pets should be your friends, not the next ones outlined in chalk. It's wrong. Most people think that they can get away with anything that they do to animals. It really is just wrong. It makes me mad just thinking about what sick people like that do to poor helpless animals.

DOZENS OF ANIMALS SEIZED
Randall Evans' heart seemed to be in the right place. But after police and animal control officers executed a search warrant on his kennel Wednesday and seized 35 cats, 26 dogs, three birds and two rabbits, they said his methods were all wrong.

How can anyone do this to a dog? I think the owners need to be put in a rubbermaid box with breathing holes and left in there just like they did their dog. This is why I would not hesitate calling the police if I saw something like this. If anything, that simple call will make a police report, a cop will investigate, and it is made a public record, and if all goes right, a conviction. If that person ever tries to adopt a child or anything like that, they are automatically flagged as incapable of taking care of any living thing. I cannot believe the things people do to animals.....
