This is really sad. Watership Down is a great book. I read it as a child. The cartoon was good as well but very violent to be on network tv. Richard Adams created a world of interesting rabbits and their enemies which are truly everywhere.

Watership Down was very much an fond read despite how violent and dark it could get. It was a grand adventure, our heroes struggling to survive and work together, though at first not being so strongly bound together.

Each character was unique and interesting, and it offered quite an insight of what life for a rabbit could be though with some fantastical elements. It allowed for a glimpse at a few different "Societies" in the borrows offer before journey's end.
