Chambersburg police investigating Saturday night murder

I see a lot of similar cases in the show "Cops". How sad to see a father killing his own son. What are your thoughts on this case?
A Chambersburg man has been charged with one-count of criminal homicide after allegedly shooting and killing his son late Saturday night.
Chambersburg police said in a release on Sunday that Jerry Rowe, 55, was arrested and charged with the murder of his son, Nathaniel Rowe, 27, after officers were called to an incident at their 925 Duncan Ave. Home around midnight Saturday.
Police were called to the residence at 11:59 p.m. For a reported fight and encountered several people arguing in the front yard when they arrived. Police said they then observed Jerry Rowe on the front porch of the home holding a handgun to his own head and threatening to commit suicide. Police said an officer then started talking with Rowe while additional officers made contact with people inside the home and removed them for their safety.
Police said dialog with Rowe lasted for about an hour when he agreed to put down the weapon. During the incident it had been learned that a person had been shot prior to the police arriving. Police said Nathaniel Rowe was found lying along the side of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said Rowe was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead...
