Tactics Military Norway

Norway is a modern country, but there are vast areas of it that are inaccessible and much of the country is rugged and mountainous. It also has a very long coastline to defend. This leads to the tactics that the Norwegian military adopts. They have very robust special forces type units for a country of it's population. These units are highly trained to fight in mountainous terrain. They also have some mobile forces that they use in the far north of the country. In fact, these are the most northerly deployed NATO forces.

The Navy is structured to support and work with other NATO naval forces in the event of war. Their primary job is to defend the long coastline that Norway has.

The army and navy both work with work with the air force to carry out their missions. The air force provides reconnaissance support to the navy and to a lesser extant the army and provides heavy firepower support in the attack and air defense.
