Charlotte police chief says video of fatal police shooting won't be released, will be shown to man's family
Police Chief Kerr Putney said police do not plan to release video of the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, citing the need to "Protect the integrity of the investigation," but "Will honor the request" of Scott's family to view it. Putney also said the video doesn't "Definitively" show that Scott was pointing a gun, as police have alleged. The shooting of Scott sparked violent protests that continued for a second night on Wednesday. Ref. USAToday.
From video footage I've seen he did have his hands up initially but when he went to the car he did not seem compliant. He had his hands down and was facing the police.

Wife releases cell phone video showing fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in Charlotte
NBC News and the New York Times obtained the footage from Scott's wife, who filmed the incident Tuesday afternoon outside an apartment complex. In the video, the first to be released since the encounter, Scott's wife can be heard yelling at police officers before the sound of at least four gunshots rings out as the camera tilts away. Several cars block the camera from filming a direct view of much of the incident. Ref. USAToday.
I saw the footage on CNN just as they released it. In my opinion it does not show much. You hear the wife talking a lot and you can barely hear the officers in the background. You do hear the gun shots clearly. What is interesting is when she repeatedly says, "Don't you do it… " is that to the police of her husband?

Charlotte police release videos of shooting of Keith Lamont Scott
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department released body and dash-cam videos of the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott on Saturday after days of mounting public pressure. Ref. Source 8o.
The released video doesn't reveal anything new. It just shows the cops in front of the car. So far what I 've learned is that Keith was smoking marijuana and he had a gun. He did not open the car door but could he have been saying that he has a gun? Even if he was just trying to let them know about it he was not licensed to own it.

Here is another example of violence that did not have to happen. All he had to do is comply with the police and he may have gotten a citation and a summons to court instead he ended up dead.
The biggest thing I find odd about this is why is his wife over there video taping it all? To me that makes it seem a bit suspicious that this may have been all staged to egg on the police to violence and get a law suit to a police brutality hearing. But some where somehow it did not go according to plan and he was killed. Maybe that is why she was yelling don't do it.
