Nuclear labs endanger public with radioactive mail. At least 25 times in the past five years, nuclear weapons contractors have improperly packaged or shipped plutonium, conventional explosives and highly toxic chemicals. Source 5k.

Yes, this is bad and people should lose their jobs over this. But, it is not earth shattering bad as this article seems to insinuate. Although, five times a year is troubling.

Any time you have stuff like this happening someone who is not of good character can figure out when it is mailed and then hijack the package and now you have a radioactive isotope in the hands of people who will find a way to turn it into a weapon to harm others. One time is too many times. Think of the people who have a low threshold of stuff that this could seriously effect from exposure.
