What are Japan's murder statistics? Are most of the murders domestic, gang related, or based on crimes like robbery or kidnapping that lead to murder?

Japans Murder rate has been dropping for a few years due to thier society where most people are more equal in everything. You do not have CEOs getting rich on the backs of their workers. I think a highly educated and socially more equal society can kill crime such as murder.

Yes if you look at the way Japan has been improving their society since the 1950 when they had some of the highest murder rates in the world and now look at them. They have the lowest or one of the lowest murder rates per capita proves the Education and more equal society can kill murder. Japan is a test in this and have proven it quiet well.

I didn't realize their murder was so high in the 50s. Why do think that was? Was it because of the their strict class structure or because they just lost WW 2?
