Okay, rather than Italian or possibly Latin, we make it Greek. How about we call it Efthygrammízo Rod. That would be pronounced

Ef thi gram Mizo

The syllables in caps are stressed if I know anything about Greek at all.

It means the same thing.

I have looked over a few magic items. I was thinking that maybe a +1 Studded Leather Armor, and a Ring of the Ram. If that is too much, just the Ring would be fine by me.

Both items are rare, Abn was granting 1 rare or 2 uncommon.

I would like to note, the ring of the ram is not the best investment, especially for its rarity, and it gets worse as time goes on. At level five, a simple firebolt spell does the same amount of damage with no limits on how often it can be used per day. All it is missing is the pushback.

As for the breakage aspect, the bard spell called Shatter generally does a better job. Where the ring does win out is for a single particularly tough item, against which you can expend all three charges. But that is a rather situational use.

As a rare item you can have the ring only. Alternately, you can have two uncommon items. There are probably better rare items… but if you want the ring it's allowed.

I will think it over… I am sure that whatever I decide on it won't be needed for the start of the game. Thanks for all the help!

Tanis, if you don't have the books or are having problems with the new editon there is a 5e character generator. Open up your character sheet and you will see all the generators. I'm not sure if you have to hit the update character at the top of the screen first or not.
There are also some nice 5e apps available that take all the pain out of making a character. Hope this helps you out.
