Sending out a flash of light as the creature in front of him swings causes it's strike to miss, Photokles suddenly and unexpectedly feels something slam into his back with great force. Though his bronze armor was able to absorb some of the impact, it was enough to knock the wind out of the priest, and he thinks he may have heard a crack or two from within his body. "N-not… go-good!" he gasps.
Briadia and Manos see the sunflowers that had been with them wilt and drop their petals, turning to dust as they drift to the ground.
Barely managing to stay atop his mule, the Rhodian rights himself and quickly observes the scene. He sees many of his allies taking strikes but Manos seems to outflanked and looking just slightly better off than himself. The priest also spots the lone beast sprinting from the fight. [Was that the direction of the Thebes?] Photokles couldn't remember in the fury of battle. [Need to keep the others up in case more show up!]
With that thought, the priest of Helios speaks some words and Manos feels almost as if that last hit hadn't. Photokles, trying his best to regain his strength, turns his attention back to two monstrosities flanking him, but then he sees the one that had come up behind him has put himself directly between the priest and one of the Athenian soldiers still alive. With the creature attempting to focus it's guard against the two, Photokles takes advantage of the situation and strikes with his spear.
(If the creature dies. Ignore if it doesn't)
Photokles then quickly turns back around to meet the gaze of the beast that tried to attack him just moments before. The priest grins as he kicks his mule to move around to put the creature between himself and Brathark.
"I know not if you understand my tongue, but I do know this day will be the last you had the privilege of being in the presence Helios!" Photokles quips at the beast, [And possibly mine… ]. The priest of the sun god then readies his shield.
Out of Character:
Cast Healing word on Manos then attacked (C7). If (C7) doesn't die, ignore the second part of my post as Photokles wouldn't be moving. But if it does die, he will be moving to the hex opposite of Brathark (24.09) to flank (C23) and say all that stuff.
Also, not sure if Elymas's bless is still active, so if not, ignore my d4 roll.
Also note, Photokles has one warding flare left, so if attacked, he'll expend it.
I hate to have to keep editing this post, but I forgot my advantage roll for the attack. I will do that in the chatter thread as soon as someone else posts there.

Manos smiles as he sees the caster pull his axe. He thinks to himself; "Good, I have his attention now; time to finish this." He watches as the axe swings towards his; his arm instinctively raising to block.
The axe flies through his protective aura, clanging off a shield. Manos says; "Not today," and then switches to a stance similar to a Spartan warrior wielding a spear. The shield he is suddenly wearing is identical to those of the Athenian soldiers and just manifested on his arm.
He notices the other creature attacking with his axe as well and turns, raising the shield to block this strike as well. The axe also penetrates his aura and, to Manos' surprise, shatters the Athenian shield and cuts deep into his arm.
As the axe pulls away it is not blood that spatters out, but a black material. It then pulls back to the flesh, taking the form of the wound before fading away, leaving behind the untouched arm.
Manos thrust his staff forward, like a spear, into the throat of the caster. Spinning, he then brings the staff across as a backhand against the creature that struck him.
Photokles sends his healing to Manos and then attempts to hit the creature near him but the creature easily evades his blow. Elymas targets the largest creature with a streak of fire and it finally falls under the terrible assault it has been taking.
Seeing their leader and so many of their comrades fall is too much for the remaining creatures, they break and turn and run, one by one, all the fight taken from them. As the creatures break to run your weapons reach out and strike true. Even the mage succumbs to blows. The sole creature left is the one furthest away, and it is running as fast as it can, away, towards the smoking columns emanating from Thebes, dropping weapons and shedding pieces of armor as it goes. Then, all of a sudden it clutches it's head and falls to the ground, screaming in agony, then silent as Niklaus' song of ruin finds its target.
The two Athenians turn to the main group, "What are those creatures? Thank you for your help. Where did you come from? Who are you? Did I say thank you? Do any of our group yet live? Where did they come from? Why is this happening? Do the gods punish us?" comes out of the two of them at the same time, neither caring that he is talking over the other.
Briadia and Arcad both run towards the fleeing creatures. Arcad is slightly faster, reaching the creature that tormented him earlier. His claws tear great gashes into the creature's back. And then he is on top of it and with one snap of its great jaws crushes the creature's skull. Briadia runs towards the creature with the bow who turns around and fires again at Briadia, just missing her shoulder. Then he looks at her, and his yellowed teeth show in what must pass for a grin for its kind and it runs a bit further and passes through the portal… which then vanishes. As Briadia reaches the spot there isn't a trace of it. Nor is there a trace of the creatures or their prisoners.
Out of Character: Thomas, it takes an action to move the moon beam, so you can't attack as well. Is that left over from your previous post? For your information, Thebes is still a good few miles away.
Elymas calls for silence, amplifying his voice if necessary to get the attention of the soldiers. "We don't know much more than you, we are the ones who can help, if you want to know more, come along, now. There are more who need help to the north, but we must move fast to reach them."
Limping just a bit, the mage returns to his mule and mounts up, ready to go.

The Athenians quiet at Elymas' words, "Nay, we must go to Athens and spread the word. See that smoke? Thebes is besieged, soon all Hellas may be. We come from Thebes, escaping ere the final gate closed to go to Athens and raise the alarm and bring troops to help. There are Spartans there still and Athens has an army of her own. Together those troops can break the siege."
Manos walks up to the soldiers and grabs the one speaking by the armor, close to his neck. "There are women and children in danger! We came to your aid for your numbers; you're coming with us. Athens can wait a few minutes." He then turns and heads north, pulling the man along with him.
Brathark Speaks up. "Elymas tell us what your bird can see. How far away are the captives and our Lady friend? Knowing which way to go is the first thing we need to know. Second of all those wounded lets see to your wounds so that we will be more whole to better assist in freeing the women and children. Manos We should not force another to fight as that will not aid us." Turning to the two Athenians, "We were picked by the gods to come to their aid in helping to find out what the threat to the world is. We are traveling to the Oracle to see what answers it can give us on this great journey. IF you would join us willingly to aid in the freeing of the captive women and children we would welcome your help."
