I will say, for Photokles at least (And also knowing how the Greek city-states worked back then), he was coming from a place of having his father murdered by Athenian sympathizers in Rhodes when it declared its independence from the Delian league. But also his words to Brathark were more of the cautionary sort, not meant to come across as threatening or anything like that. Photokles simply believes that whatever it is that is happening in the world is bigger than most think and to continue behaving in a manner that keeps the Greeks divided (Again I know this is how they acted back then before Alexander and eventually being rolled into Rome, but this is an alternate history) is petty in the priest's eyes. So allowing the two soldiers to go on with their "Mission" before aiding us seeing as we saved their lives, could come across as weak and what if that's what these two end up reporting when they get back to Athens?
"The 'great god-chosen' of Sparta bend to the will of Athens!" is what Photokles thinks about, like a propaganda headline to still further Athens' agenda over the world's safety as whole.
Again though, this coming from a character very much put off by Athenians and where their minds are kept…
Daishain,
Excellent speech. They look at you like you are from another planet for it, but excellent speech. You get a luck die. What is a luck die? A luck die is a d8+1, one is never lucky so you always get at least two, awarded for something I like. It is totally arbitrary with no rhyme nor reason. Impress me in some way and the fates bestow luck upon you. For something truly exceptional, I'll give a d10+1.
What can they be used for? Just about anything. Add it to attack, yup. How about damage, sure. Can I use it as negative to an enemy's attack, indeed. And of course, it works wonders on skills too. You can even give it to a friend in need. The one rule is if you use it on your roll or a friend's roll you have to do so before I post results. For a negative you can ask me if the result was close or not and I'll tell you, but I won't tell you exactly.
Last rule, each of your characters can only have one at a time. Use them or you won't get more.
Oh man, Manos has it out for that Athenian! (Laugh)
Also, just wanted to get some clarification regarding the "Lucky dice".
You mentioned one can't have more then one at a time, but said when awarded, you get "At least two".
Am I misunderstanding something?
My thanks Dungeon Master, I shall consider its use carefully.
Brandon,
He's not talking about how many dice you can get here. He said one is never lucky, so you always get at least 2. Its a 1d8+1, so you can never just roll a 1.
I added his name to my character notes, labeled rival. Manos does have it out for him.
I mean, you saw his Athletics check critical, Manos is doing the definition of angry running, *laugh*. Edited: Robertreaper on 20th Sep, 2017 - 2:08am
Ah, ok. I see now!
Wow, I feel dumb. Now that I read it that way, I don't know how I misunderstood that…
My apologizes for just having Keitha appear with the group, lets say she was following along quietly.
