Un-Natural Selection: Human Evolution's Next Steps
Issues From Around The World
Millions of years ago, the natural environment was shaping us into the species we are now and humans evolved by natural selection. But as humans continue to evolve, we've turned the notion of natural selection on its head. Nature isn't the only force that picks the genes. Humans are doing it too.

Humans artificially drive evolution of new species
Species across the world are rapidly going extinct due to human activities, but humans are also causing rapid evolution and the emergence of new species. A new study summarizes the causes of humanmade speciation, and discusses why newly evolved species cannot simply replace extinct wild species. Ref. Source 7u.
Humans still evolving, large-scale study of genetic data shows. In a study analyzing the genomes of 210,000 people in the United States and Britain, researchers have found that the genetic variants linked to Alzheimer's disease and heavy smoking are less frequent in people with longer lifespans, suggesting that natural selection is weeding out these unfavorable variants in both populations. I can see this. With everything nature is only going to help preserve a species by keeping the most fit or survival of the fittest to keep the species going. To see that those who like to smoke or have a incurable disease being slowly weeded out should tell others that humans are still evolving.
