No matter how much the scientist work to make any type of fuel available from the earth it is already a finite amount. The two sources of unlimited power comes from the sun in wind and solar energy. Using a combination of them to get us off this rock is our best way to grow in the future.

Yes there is still oil, gas, coal, and radioactive materials that we can use as well as hydrogen we can use for fusion instead of fission. Using them for now as we develop a greener way of producing energy will help us. But we do need to get away from the resources that are limited from the earth.

Yes there is finite fuel in the earth. I can remember back 40 or so year (In the 70's) it was predicted that oil would all be used up by 2022 based on growth and what was expected to be found.

Now I am sure that day has moved further into the future, but it can still come. I will agree that we as people of the earth must move to more renewable resources to progress into the future. Many people forget that all of the energy on this planet came from the sun and we will continue to receive energy from our sun for many years to come. We, the people of the earth, need to harness the energy better, more efficiently.

With the fact that fossil fuels are limited we should not be moving away from them instead of having oil companies and congress making sure we are still stuck with them. Looking back in our history we can see times when those that would have gave us a different type of energy has been squashed.
