I watched all the films about the Planet of the Apes but I must admit that since I turned Vegan, the films have become more meaningful to me. The message behind the film, it is both touching and eye-opening (Very vegan!).
The apes are very similar to humans in so many ways: Ceasar's eyes, his love for his family, the mourning of his wife and son, all characteristics shared by both humans and animals alike. We are more alike than different.
Speciesism was also portrayed very graphically in this latest film, where humans exploit animals in horrific ways due to their belief of superiority over these sentient beings.
They never have a complete "Happy" ending though and that kind of turn me off because I want the apes to be happy once and for all.
