UNESCO has been a failed organization for years. As soon as they started re-designating one religions artifacts the property of Islam, and spending more time condemning Israel rather than other, REAL violators of historical objects, knowledgeable people knew they were a lost cause.

Such a clear bias can only be attributed to the influence the oil-rich Middle Eastern States have on UNESCO directly and the UN as a whole. The entire UN no longer serves the purpose that it was created for - it is now a mouthpiece for Islamic countries. If you examine the records of UN organization resolutions and such, you will see a clear pattern that is NOT promoting peace and civilization, but more keeping OPEC and other related countries and dictatorships in power. This isn't even masked on their website. Assad has been accused of using UN banned war methods on his civilian populace, and the UN has not started any serious investigation of the alleged war crime, as an example.
