This is an interesting video about the possible future. For me I think the timeline needs to be lengthened but I can see many of the things mentioned becoming a reality. Will we live to see it in this volatile world?
As I see it: the hybridization and merging of technologies will make so many crossovers that there will have to be collaboration at every levels. 3D printing is in its infancy, and within 100 years you will be able to bring back your old furniture, clothing and other objects as a credit to build something new that your order from your corner 3D multimaterial printer. Depending on the development of energy to matter technology, this would essentially become a Star Trek style replicator. Even without energy to matter development, it will still make mass product stores obsolete quickly. Stem cell research combined with 3D printing technology has the potential to make available full human body regeneration and is already being used today. This means that, unless you die from disease or damage too quickly, you will never have any permanent injury or genetic disorder. Integrated tech and biology will enhance our abilities to extremes that truly will make us, as a species, cyborgs. AI technology has the potential to totally remove human requirement to do work and has an uncertain path. Either we could end up being replaced by our own creations due to our of control AI self evolution, or we will all have personal workers that will take care of all our needs. So much will change within the next few decades that our world will be unrecognizable.
I completely agree with the video posted, I'm very familiar with Ray being a member of the National Federation of the Blind, I truly believe that technology will completely reach these points. I may not live to see the later half of it but good heavens wouldn't it be wonderful to see people be able to have super human powers. Where do I sign up for that?
