Sheriff: Deputy seen in school video fired

Richland County (S.C.) Sheriff Leon Lott announced Wednesday that Deputy Ben Fields has been fired after he roughly handled a high school girl who refused to leave a classroom, an incident that was captured on video. In video taken by students and posted online, Fields was seen flipping the student backwards in her desk and dragging her across the floor before handcuffing her. Lott said Fields "Did not follow proper procedure" In handling the girl. Ref. USAToday
